IFFCO and Jordan Phosphates Mines Company Ltd (JPMC), Jordan had formed a Limited Liability Joint Venture Company, namely Jordan India Fertiliser Company (JIFCO) on March 6, 2008 in Amman, Jordan under the 'Free Zone' system to set up a Phosphoric Acid Plant of 1500 tonnes per day P2O5 capacity at Eshidiya in Jordan. In this company, IFFCO and its affiliates hold 52 % equity, while JPMC holds 48 % equity. JPMC will make available the required quantity of Rock Phosphate for the project. IFFCO and JPMC together will buy back the entire production of Phosphoric Acid from the Plant.The project cost is estimated at around US$ 767 million. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and European Investment Bank (EIB) are the senior lenders for the Project. The project has obtained necessary approvals and clearances including Environmental Clearance from the Government of Jordan to start construction activities at site.

The Foundation Stone of the plant was laid at Eshidiya Site on October 3, 2009. His Majesty King Abdullah II, the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan laid the foundation of the phosphoric acid plant of Jordan India Fertilizer Company (JIFCO) at Eshidiya, Jordan on 3rdOctober,2009 in presence of His Excellency Dr. Amer Haddidi, Minister of Industry, His Excellency Dr. Khaldoun Kutaishat, Minister of Energy & Resources, His Excellency Walid Ismail Kurdi, Chairman, JPMC & JIFCO, R R Dash, Ambassador of India in Jordan and Dr.U.S.Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO & Dy. Chairman, JIFCO and other high ranking officials of Jordan.

Commissioned and production of concentrated Phosphoric Acid

The plant has been commissioned and production of concentrated Phosphoric Acid (52% P2O5), the final product, has commenced from 29th May, 2014.
